The event was designed to further educate children, along with their parents, tips on what to do in case of a fire. Demonstrations include how to operate a fire extinguisher, exiting a house that is full of smoke, stop drop cover and roll, and a maze that children do completely blindfolded to find a stuffed animal "victim". Some live demonstrations of what firefighters do while inside of a fire is also shown. Every fire apparatus was available for show along with two of the Ringwood Ambulance Corps. ambulance, the Ringwood underwater Dive Team and emergency management units. Food was provided courtesy of Chili's resturant in Riverdale, NJ. NorthStar helicopter was scheduled to appear, but due to unexpected emergencies they were unavailable. All three fire companies ended their day with a crash re-enactment to show all guest what the companies do in the event of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. A special thanks to all volunteers who committed their time to help educate the community.
